BCB Plus is the latest formula of the established BCB Bubble Column Water Treatment, designed to help protect bubble tube water against microbial contamination and green algae while maintaining clean, clear water.

The new BCB Plus formula replaces the original BCB treatment and significantly extends bubble tube water life. With the correct monthly treatment, the recommended water change interval increases from approximately 4 to 6 weeks with Original BCB to up to 6 months with BCB Plus.

This makes BCB Plus particularly useful for schools, sensory rooms, clinics, hospitals, therapy spaces and other multi sensory environments where bubble tubes may be in regular use.

BCB Plus Water Change Frequency

BCB Plus uses enhanced chemistry developed to extend the useful life of the water inside a bubble column while continuing to provide microbial and algae control.

How Much BCB Plus Should I Use?

Add 20ml of BCB Plus per metre of bubble column once every month.

For example:

• 1 metre bubble column: 20ml per month
• 1.5 metre bubble column: 30ml per month
• 2 metre bubble column: 40ml per month

A 500ml bottle can therefore provide approximately 25 monthly treatments for a 1 metre bubble column, or around 12 months of treatment for a 2 metre bubble column, when dosed according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Why Does Bubble Tube Water Need Treating?

Bubble tubes continuously draw air through the water. Dust, fibres and other airborne debris can enter through the air system, while the combination of water, warmth, light and aeration can create conditions in which microorganisms and algae can develop.

As bubbles reach the surface they also produce very small water droplets, or aerosols, around the bubble column. Proper water treatment and routine maintenance are therefore important, particularly for bubble tubes used regularly in schools, sensory rooms, clinics and other shared environments.

BCB Plus is based on the proven Bronopol compound. The original BCB treatment was developed in conjunction with Northumbrian Water PLC and microbiological organisations, and BCB technology has been used for bubble column water treatment since 1995.
